Mental Health Week
11-16th October-
NHS Western Isles is running a local photography event to challenge the stigma and discrimination of mental ill-health by inspiring creativity through photography, and raising awareness of how positive mental health can be found in everyday life. This year they are encouraging you to think about what mental health means to you, and how you might portray this in a photograph.
This year’s category for entry is ‘What does positive mental health mean to you?”
We use photos to capture the most important moments in our lives: family occasions; time spent with friends; images of those closest to us. We also snap views, animals, random shots – whatever makes us happy or thoughtful.
We know that minds are changed with pictures as much as words.
The hope is to bring together your pictures alongside your thoughts about mental health and wellbeing.
Please see the attached poster for more information and pass on to friends and colleagues who may be interested.
